Joel Kahn, MD
At his core, Dr. Joel Kahn believes that plant-based nutrition is the most powerful source of preventative medicine on the planet. Having practiced traditional cardiology since 1983, it was only after his own commitment to a plant based vegan diet that he truly began to delve into the realm of non-traditional diagnostic tools, prevention tactics and nutrition-based recovery protocols. These ideologies led him to change his approach and focus on being a holistic cardiologist. He passionately lectures throughout the country about the health benefits of a plant-based anti-aging diet inspiring a new generation of thought leaders to think scientifically and critically about the body’s ability to heal itself through proper nutrition.

Pamela Fergusson, RD & PhD
Dr. Fergusson has operated a private practice in Toronto, where she promotes health and healing through a plant-based diet. She has been a Registered Dietitian since 2001, earned her PhD at the University of Liverpool and her Master’s in International Health at Sweden’s Uppsala University, and has worked in the nutrition field in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. She has been a lecturer at the University of Chester UK, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Ryerson University and the University of Liverpool online MPH program. She has served as a Food Security Analyst for the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, and remains a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK.
Dr. Fergusson has also worked for Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance (FANTA), providing training and support to USAID-funded nutrition projects in Africa and Asia. She is the author or co-author of nine nutrition-related papers in peer-reviewed journals, primarily dealing with the implications of nutritional status or malnutrition for care or survival of persons afflicted by human immunodeficiency virus. Much of her work has focused upon the potential for nutritional interventions on behalf of HIV infected or exposed children in resource-limited underserved settings, in countries such as Ghana, Malawi, Namibia and Zambia. She also previously served as Dietitian Educator/Coordinator of the Vancouver-based Aboriginal Diabetes Awareness Prevention and Teaching Project (ADAPT).

In 2009, Matt founded the “No Meat Athlete” movement, and continues to oversee the media company and serve as the brand’s public face. No Meat Athlete has nearly 300,000 email subscribers and even more followers on various social media platforms.
Matt is the author of No Meat Athlete: Run on Plants and Discover Your Fittest, Fastest, Happiest, Self and The No Meat Athlete Cookbook (due out in May 2017), which was named one of “The Top 7 Health & Wellness Books of 2017” by Sports Illustrated and People.
In 2014, Greatist named Matt one of the 100 Most Influential People in Health & Fitness. He and No Meat Athlete have been featured in several books, including Thrive Foods by Brendan Brazier; Finding Ultra by Rich Roll, and Seth Godin’s What to Do When It’s Your Turn.
Matt enjoys competing in ultra-endurance events, having completed a number of marathons, several 50-mile ultramarathons, and one 100-mile race. When he’s not running, cooking, or blogging, Matt enjoys martial arts, reading, gambling, music, and brewing beer. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his wife, two children, and two rescued dogs.

Jerry is the host of The Plant-Based Entrepreneur Show, the podcast for business on starting and running successful vegan brands, and led the team behind Plant-Based Business Week - the first summit dedicated to the rapidly expanding vegan industry, and the new generation of vegan entrepreneurs who are building it.
At various points in the past, Jerry has worked as a writer for a men’s magazine, a bodyguard in one of South America’s most dangerous capitals, a web designer (having built his first website in the late 90s), and accumulated over 7,000 jumps as a skydiving instructor and photographer. Since discovering how much better he felt after eliminating all animal products from his diet, Jerry co-authored two cook-books and built an online program for people transitioning to a vegan diet.
As he doesn’t particularly enjoy winter unless there’s skiing involved, Jerry currently lives in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, with his wife Maya Novak, an injury recovery mentor. He’s a fan of sci-fi, still loves flying (in all forms), and is fascinated by the potential plant-based products have for our health and wellbeing, for our planet and for all those we share it with, and he's particularly interested in ways that vegan business can be leveraged to maximize that impact.

Jackson is a graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Integrative Physiology and Public Health. He’s certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell and is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition.
Fascinated with the integration of nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, and health, Jackson switched to a plant-based vegan lifestyle in 2014. This change catalyzed a passion for helping others achieve optimal health and athletic performance. Jackson co-hosts the Thought For Food Podcast, a show dedicated to making healthy, compassionate, and adventurous plant-based lifestyles simple and practical through an evidence-based and entertaining lens.
Jackson is also a high level road cyclist, having raced at the national and international level for 10 years. When he's not poring over the latest nutrition research, you can find Jackson riding his bike up Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, drinking fancy coffee, or eating burritos.

Matt has started, invested in, and advised companies in the education, personal tech, and health industries. He is now focused on ending preventable diseases through plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine. Matt has a “30x30” goal — for 30% of the population to be plant-based by 2030.
Before joining the plant-based movement, Matt founded The Digital Education Company, also known as “digedu,” which provided proprietary technologies to K-12 schools. Serving as the Company’s President, Mr. Tullman oversaw the growth from the first classroom deployment to serving hundreds of thousands of students in school districts nationwide. More than simply replacing textbooks with etextbooks, digedu served as a trusted partner for teachers and districts navigating the challenges of meaningfully incorporating technology into the classroom. The Company continues to catalyze the transition to impactful technology adoption, now under the banner Modern Teacher, after a successful merger in 2015.
Before starting digedu, Matt served as founding Managing Director of 7wire Ventures, a Chicago-based firm that starts, incubates, and invests growth-capital in businesses addressing the critical issue-areas of health, education, and energy. During his tenure at 7wire, Matt had the privilege of contributing to the development of a variety of businesses, including SoCore Energy, which was sold to Edison International (NYSE: EIX), and more unique ventures, like Ignite Glass Studios.
Matt is passionate about bringing ideas to life—from creating new businesses to building furniture and digital artifacts. He loves learning, designing, prototyping, and challenging himself physically. He’s also a big fan of hugs, positivity, meditation, and giving back.
